Find several (3-5) different brands of essentially the same product (meaning it solves the same problems or fills the same needs.)

Examine the materials that they collected last period and come up with recommendation for changes to be made at The Point. If they do not have enough materials a search of DECA school store will reveal many more sources.
Suggest-strongly—that cleaning up the back room the way it was a week ago might make life a little easier on them when I return!

3. When that is complete give them handout #2. As a COMPANY (one paper per company) have them complete the Product Positioning Template for the new product they are introducing. Emphasize the need to concise but clear statements.

You are going to develop a partial promotion plan. Select ONE game/event from your marketing plan and complete the items described below. Professionalism and quality matter, as does creativity!
1.Define Your Objectives
Make a list of what to accomplish through your promotion plan
2.Identification of the Target Market
A.Primary market: In general terms, describe the market (people) that you will aim the majority of your advertising efforts at. Use demographics, psychographics, geographics, lifestyles, etc.
B.Secondary market: Do the same as above, but these individuals are the secondary targets. In some cases you might be able to consider them the fringe or overflow from the primary market.
3.Select a slogan
What will be your slogan or theme for this game? It should be present in all of your advertising in some manner or form.
4.Create the following
•2 Newspaper ads
•2 billboard ads
•2 Bus ads
•A Web page (I recommend Webnode for a FREE web page)
•A Facebook “Fan” page
